Sargent & Lundy’s internship program was named one of the top in the nation, earning a spot on the 2026 Top 100 Internship Programs list presented by Yello and WayUp. The list recognizes employers setting new standards for meaningful, equitable, and impactful internship experiences.

Sargent & Lundy’s internship program connects technical experience with professional development and provides exposure to the firm’s leaders. It is structured to provide interns with a worthwhile learning experience and prepare them for a future career.

The firm’s program focuses on seven core competency areas to guide progress: quality of work, quantity of work, critical thinking, initiative, communication, collaboration, and artificial intelligence utilization. From day one, interns are matched with a check-in supervisor and mentor who provide day-to-day coaching and professional development touchpoints.

Interns at Sargent & Lundy are also encouraged to participate in company-supported activities, connect with employees across departments, and take part in social events and volunteer opportunities. These experiences help interns build relationships, understand the firm’s culture, and develop skills that extend beyond their assigned projects.

The 2026 summer program welcomed its biggest intern class yet with 219 interns from 106 different schools – including six high schoolers who belong to the ACE Mentor Program of America – working in 27 offices across the U.S.

Yello and WayUp, which was acquired by Yello, combine large-scale early-talent acquisition software with specialized recruitment on a joint platform that reaches millions of college students across thousands of universities. WayUp established the Top 100 Internship Programs list and founded National Intern Day in 2017 to recognize contributions from the future workforce. Hundreds of employers across industries and company sizes submitted nominations for this year’s list. In addition to 110,000 public votes, a panel of industry experts reviewed anonymized nominations and evaluated programs based on seven criteria, including:

  • Program design and experience
  • Intern development and support
  • Engagement and culture
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
  • Compensation, benefits, and perks
  • Offers, acceptance, and retention
  • Unique program elements

The Top 100 Internship Program recognition adds to Sargent & Lundy’s growing list of 2026 workplace honors. The firm has been recognized nationally by USA TODAY as a Top Workplace, Forbes as a Best Midsize Employer, TIME as a Best Private Company, and U.S. News & World Report as a Best Company to Work For Overall and in Engineering and Construction.
