U.S. News & World Report has named Sargent & Lundy in three of its 2026-2027 Best Companies to Work For lists, adding triple honors to the firm’s growing list of workplace recognitions.

The publication included Sargent & Lundy in its Best Companies to Work For Overall, Best Companies to Work For: Engineering and Construction, and Best Companies to Work For: Midwest lists. These accolades reinforce the firm’s reputation as a top employer and build upon a two-year streak of being recognized by U.S. News as a Best Company to Work For.

This year, U.S. News evaluated approximately 1,900 privately held companies and not-for-profit organizations, using publicly available information to assess six key factors to employee well-being:

  • Quality of pay and benefits
  • Work/life balance and flexibility
  • Job and company stability
  • Physical and psychological comfort
  • Belongingness and self-esteem
  • Career opportunities and professional development

Sargent & Lundy excelled in each category, including a top score for quality of pay and benefits, which U.S. News ranks highest in their “Employee Hierarchy of Needs.”

This recognition adds to Sargent & Lundy’s growing list of workplace honors from Forbes, USA TODAY, and Engineering.com. These awards use employee feedback to evaluate compensation and benefits, innovation, leadership, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility and serve as validation of strong culture and values.

In 2026 alone, Forbes has named Sargent & Lundy in its America’s Best Midsize Employers and America’s Best-in-State Companies in Illinois; USA TODAY recognized the firm as a Top Workplace – its sixth consecutive Top Workplaces USA recognition –, ranking 11th among large employers nationwide; and Engineering.com endorsed the firm as a Top Workplace for Engineers. Regional Top Workplace awards were also secured by the firm from  publications in Denver and Washington, D.C..
