Sargent & Lundy ranked No. 89 on TIME’s inaugural list of America’s Best Private Companies.
TIME partnered with Statista to create the new ranking, which recognizes 500 privately held U.S. companies based on two equally weighted dimensions: employee satisfaction and company impact. TIME said the impact analysis measured net impact across four pillars: society, knowledge, health, and the environment.
The ranking places Sargent & Lundy among a select group of companies that stand out for workplace experience and broader societal impact. Founded in 1891, Sargent & Lundy remains privately owned and led by engineers, a model the firm says helps create a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
TIME based its ranking on employee survey responses from the past three years and on analysis from The Upright Project, a Helsinki-based technology company that quantifies companies’ societal effects.
The award adds to a growing list of 2026 recognitions for Sargent & Lundy. This year, the firm extended its Top Workplaces USA streak to six consecutive years and ranked No. 11 among large employers nationwide.
Additionally, the firm ranked No. 6 among large companies in Engineering.com’s 2026 Top Workplaces for Engineers awards, earned spots on U.S. News & World Report’s Best Companies to Work For list and Forbes’ list of America’s Best Midsize Employers, and received the Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health.
Together, the honors reinforce Sargent & Lundy’s continued momentum as a high-performing employer and industry leader.
