Sargent & Lundy’s growing portfolio of power and energy projects outside the U.S. solidified its rankings among Engineering News-Record’s lists of global and international design firms.

Based on the firm’s total domestic and international revenue, Sargent & Lundy ranked 48th on ENR’s Top 150 Global Design Firms list and 81st on its Top 225 International Design Firms list. The latter ranking is based solely on revenue generated outside the U.S.

The new rankings further secure the firm’s international standing. Earlier this year, Sargent & Lundy placed 26th on ENR’s Top 50 Designers in International Markets list. Overall, the firm ranked 22nd on the publication’s signature Top 500 Design Firms and retained its No. 1 ranking in Nuclear Plants.

Sargent & Lundy is working on behalf of the U.S. Department of State to help countries throughout Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia to deploy U.S. small modular reactor technology through its ongoing SMR Pan-Regional Interest Nuclear Group initiative, known as SPRING. SPRING is part of the State Department’s Foundational Infrastructure for Responsible Use of SMR Technology program, known as FIRST. The initiative is intended to increase efficiency by fostering collaboration through common design and regulatory standards among the 14 participating countries. The firm is also providing design, technical assessments, and siting studies for large-scale nuclear projects in Canada, Romania, and Poland.

Outside of the U.S., Sargent & Lundy has offices in Canada, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. It recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its successful joint venture, L&T-Sargent & Lundy Limited, with India-based engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro. The firm’s international project history dates to the completion of the Tocopilla Power Station in Chile in 1919.

Sargent & Lundy is a global leader serving clients in the power, energy, industrial, and government sectors. The firm has expertise in grid modernization, renewable energy, energy storage, nuclear power, conventional power, carbon capture, and data centers.
