Sargent & Lundy’s Eric DeCristofaro will join a panel of leaders from industry and the U.S. Department of Energy to discuss how partnerships between government bodies and the private sector can offset financial risks and leverage resources to help accelerate solar and energy storage projects. The panel is part of Reuters Events: Energy LIVE 2024, a three-day expo and triple conference in Houston this week.

The Energy LIVE Expo brings over 3,000 participants to an energy summit and three conferences: Energy Transition, Hydrogen, and Solar and Storage. As part of the Solar and Storage North America 2024 conference, DeCristofaro will join the keynote panel, “Public-private partnerships to share financial risks.” He will share his experiences helping Sargent & Lundy clients navigate the risks associated with developing solar and storage projects. This includes the firm’s experiences as technical advisor and independent engineer supporting successful partnerships between private developers and utilities.

The panel will discuss collaboration between government and private entities to understand financial risk-sharing mechanisms and how accessing additional resources can reduce siloes and reach project scalability. They will also explore how engaging in public-private partnerships benefits organizations through shared financial risk and by leveraging combined resources for innovative financial models.
