Sargent & Lundy’s Maury Pressburger, a nuclear professional with nearly 45 years of project management and technical expertise, will deliver a plenary speech at the upcoming American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference, addressing the industry’s direction and growing momentum to meet future power demands.

As director of nuclear siting for Sargent & Lundy, Pressburger currently oversees numerous domestic and international projects for large-scale and advanced small modular reactors along with fuel fabrication and nuclear radioisotope facilities. In his talk on “Advanced Reactors: The Nuclear Industry Landscape and the Expansion of Data Centers/AI Computing and Power Needs,” Pressburger will share insights on the executive orders driving the nuclear industry, current and planned domestic and international advanced reactor projects, initiatives to advance the nuclear industry, progress made with technology and licensing, data center and power demand projections, and challenges facing ASME in the industry’s “second nuclear renaissance.”

More than 1,000 researchers, academics, and engineers from over 40 countries are expected to attend the five-day conference, which begins July 19 in Anaheim, California. The international forum focuses on the manufacturing and use of pressure vessels and piping across industries, including nuclear reactors. Pressburger will deliver one of two plenary speeches to all attendees at the conference, which will also feature more than 160 presentations, panels, workshops, and exhibits.
