Sargent & Lundy, a leader in advancing the future of energy, has scored its 10th straight year on the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces list, earning its highest standing yet. The firm’s Chicago headquarters ranked fourth on the list of the city’s workplaces with more than 1,000 local employees.

“This is a remarkable achievement that speaks volumes about our values and commitment to our people,” said Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Victor Suchodolski. “A lot can happen over the course of 10 years as business cycles, priorities, and personnel shift, but our values have remained the same. Nurturing a community where people thrive is what makes it possible for us to serve our clients and keep innovating.”

The recognition is based on the results of anonymous employee surveys conducted this past June by the employer research and consulting firm Energage that measured employee engagement, company culture, and compensation and benefits. The Chicago team had an 85% response rate in the survey, well above the industry average.

Suchodolski was also named Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplace Leadership Award winner in the large company category. This special award is based on stand out scores in response to this statement on the Energage survey: “I have confidence in the leader of this company.” One employee added, “The CEO clearly puts effort into making everyone feel their voice is heard and that they are valued.”

The firm has been among the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces since 2015, and last month it added three more prestigious Fall Culture Excellence Top Workplaces awards for its commitment to employee appreciation, employee well-being, and investment in professional development. That was on top of its five Spring Culture Excellence Awards for compensation and benefits, innovation, leadership, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility. The firm has been a national Top Workplaces honoree for the past four years and has also earned regional honors for its Delaware operations since 2019.

“Sargent & Lundy allows me to contribute to meaningful projects, work with a talented and collaborative team, and continually develop my skills in a supportive environment,” said one employee in the anonymous Engergage survey.

The Top Workplaces awards are based solely on data from employee surveys measuring positive employee feedback and engagement. The surveys are compiled and analyzed by Energage to determine which companies make the list and their rankings. Energage’s research is considered the gold standard in the industry based on its extensive experience and vast data sampling to develop the most accurate benchmarks and results.

Sargent & Lundy is hiring in Chicago as part of an effort to fill over 1,000 positions throughout the company. Opportunities for engineers, designers, project managers, and support staff in the U.S. and internationally can be found at sargentlundy.com/careers.
