Sargent & Lundy has secured its sixth straight year on Delaware’s Top Workplaces list thanks to reviews from its team of more than 150 Wilmington employees. Among midsize companies of fewer than 400 local employees, the firm placed 5th overall and was the highest ranked engineering firm.
The recognition is based on the results of anonymous employee surveys conducted this past June measuring employee engagement, company culture, and compensation and benefits. Nearly 85% of the Wilmington team of engineers, designers, project managers, and support staff participated in the survey leading to the firm’s high marks.
“Earning this distinction six years in a row sets us apart from other employers and makes Sargent & Lundy a leader in the industry,” said Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Victor Suchodolski. “Having worked in our Wilmington office for many years, it’s personally gratifying and reinforces what I have seen firsthand. This team is highly committed and engaged to continuous improvement, and I’m thankful to say I see the same qualities reflected in our offices throughout the country.”
In March, Sargent & Lundy made the list of national firms on USA TODAY’s Top Workplaces USA list, ranking 21st out of more than 2,200 companies with 2,500 or more employees. In 2023, the firm ranked 11th on the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces of employers with more than 1,000 employees.
The Top Workplaces awards are based solely on data from employee surveys measuring positive employee feedback and engagement. The surveys are compiled and analyzed by the employer research and consulting firm Energage to determine which companies make the list and their rankings. Energage’s research is considered the gold standard in the industry based on its extensive experience and vast data sampling to develop the most accurate benchmarks and results.
Earlier this year, Sargent & Lundy swept the spring Top Workplaces Culture Excellence Awards with recognition in all five categories: Compensation and Benefits, Innovation, Leadership, Purpose and Values, and Work-Life Flexibility. These were added to our awards last fall for Employee Well-Being, Employee Appreciation, and Professional Development.
