Engineering.com named Sargent & Lundy a Top Workplace for Engineers in its first awards program recognizing 35 design and engineering firms nationwide. Sargent & Lundy ranked fourth out of 10 large firms eligible for the award.
“It’s always special to be recognized as a place where people want to come to work every day,” said Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Victor Suchodolski. “It’s particularly meaningful to be recognized within our industry. Thank you to our incredible team of engineers, designers, and all the professional support staff for making this award possible.”
The recognition is based on anonymous employee surveys conducted last June by the employer research and consulting firm Energage that measured employee engagement, company culture, and compensation and benefits. The Top Workplaces awards are based solely on data from employee surveys measuring positive employee feedback and engagement.
This is the first year Top Workplaces, in association with digital media publisher Engineering.com, has recognized firms specifically in the engineering industry. To be eligible, participating companies must employ at least 35 engineers or have an engineering workforce made up of 10% or more of its total workforce. The Top Workplaces for Engineers award highlights organizations that prioritize employee well-being, innovation, and a supportive workplace culture.
Earlier this month, Sargent & Lundy earned Top Workplace USA honors, ranking 14th out of 100 companies nationwide with more than 2,500 employees. The firm was also recognized with a special milestone award for winning the national honor every year since it was established in 2021. At the same time, Suchodolski earned Top Workplaces USA’s inaugural Leadership Award.
The Top Workplaces surveys are compiled and analyzed by Energage to determine which companies make the list and their rankings. Energage’s research is considered the gold standard in the industry based on its nearly 20 years of experience and vast data sampling to develop the most accurate benchmarks and results.
“I have a wide variety of projects and work in the energy field, and I am constantly learning from others in the company,” said an anonymous survey respondent. “We are always learning new technologies to help our clients and make an impact in our communities.”
Over the past year, Sargent & Lundy has received regional honors from the Chicago Tribune and the Delaware News Journal. It recently earned three Fall Culture Excellence Top Workplaces awards for its commitment to employee appreciation, employee well-being, and investment in professional development. It also swept all five Spring Culture Excellence Awards last year for compensation and benefits, innovation, leadership, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility.
Sargent & Lundy is hiring as part of an effort to fill over 1,000 positions throughout the company. Opportunities for engineers, designers, project managers, and support staff in the U.S. and internationally can be found at sargentlundy.com/careers.
