For the fifth straight year, Sargent & Lundy was named to the Top Workplaces USA list by USA TODAY, ranking 14th out of 100 companies nationwide with more than 2,500 employees. The firm earned special recognition among an elite group of only 179 companies that have won the national honor every year since it was established in 2021.
“This award belongs to Sargent & Lundy’s amazing employees,” said Victor Suchodolski, chairman, president, and CEO, in accepting the five-year award on behalf of the firm during this week’s Top Workplaces National Awards Summit in Las Vegas. “They are the heart and soul of our firm. Their passion, innovation, and dedication make our workplace special every day. The fact that they find their work meaningful and engaging – that’s the real win here.”
Suchodolski also earned top honors at the event as the winner of the Top Workplaces USA Leadership Award for companies with over 2,500 employees. Suchodolski has been chairman, president, and CEO of the industry-leading engineering design firm since 2023. He has been with the firm for 28 years and continues its long legacy of having an engineer as its leader. In November, Suchodolski was the recipient of the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces Leadership Award.
The awards are based on the results of anonymous employee surveys conducted by Energage, a Pennsylvania-based research company that independently analyzes and identifies companies that earn national and regional Top Workplaces awards. Top Workplaces USA is considered the gold standard of employer recognition programs because of its methodology and data-driven insights gathered from millions of employees at thousands of companies across the country. The survey measures employee engagement based on key benchmarks such as perceptions of fairness, growth opportunities, communication and collaboration, and shared beliefs in the company’s direction, values, and meaning.
“I love my job because it allows me to work on cutting-edge engineering projects, collaborate with talented and dedicated colleagues, and make a meaningful impact in the power industry,” said one anonymous Sargent & Lundy survey respondent.
In addition to Top Workplaces USA, Sargent & Lundy was named a Chicago Tribune Top Workplace for the 10th straight year, and its Wilmington office has been a Delaware News Journal Top Workplaces winner since 2019. The firm recently earned three Fall Culture Excellence Top Workplaces awards for its commitment to employee appreciation, employee well-being, and investment in professional development and swept all five Spring Culture Excellence Awards for compensation and benefits, innovation, leadership, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility
The nearly 135-year-old firm is rapidly growing to meet increasing power demands throughout the country. The company has open positions across the country for engineers, designers, project managers, and support staff. Opportunities can be found at sargentlundy.com/careers.
