Sargent & Lundy leaders will share technical, financial, and professional development insights at the Experience POWER conference, Oct. 29–31, in Denver, Colorado. Subject matter specialists from the firm will engage in peer education and collaborative discussion with energy professionals from generation, transmission, distribution, and supply sectors to discuss how to navigate the global energy transition and answer the world’s call for a reliable and sustainable future.
The conference’s range of topics provides an opportunity for Sargent & Lundy specialists across several disciplines to share and learn lessons from across the industry. The conference offers tracks covering emerging trends like digitization, distributed energy resources, and the hydrogen economy, alongside traditional electric power sessions.
- Eric DeCristofaro, a vice president at Sargent & Lundy, will present “Maximizing Project Value Through Wind and Solar Repowering.” He will highlight best practices, common issues, and insights that Sargent & Lundy has identified during its support of over 100 wind project repowering efforts and extend the discussion into key considerations for solar photovoltaic project repowering.
- Sargent & Lundy’s Director of Training and Organizational Change Deanna Myers will serve as a panelist for the “Identifying Future Leaders in Energy” discussion. The panel will focus on fostering leadership development and mentorship while encouraging high-performing workers to pursue leadership roles within an organization.
- Sargent & Lundy Senior Project Manager Nicholas Torres will join a panel discussing “The Future of Nuclear Energy: Fleet Modernization, Advanced Reactors, and Fusion.” The panel will explore advanced nuclear technologies, reactor modernization, and fusion energy’s long-term potential, while emphasizing nuclear power’s role in increasing energy output, reducing emissions, and improving grid reliability.
- Director of Environmental Technologies, Licensing, and Permitting Wayshalee Patel will moderate the “Women in Power: Leading Change from the Inside” panel, while Vice President Pareez Golub will participate as a panelist. The session will spotlight women leaders’ strategies for career pathing, advancing their organizations, and overcoming workplace obstacles in a transforming power industry.
- Sargent & Lundy Project Director Patrick Daou will present “Key Considerations for Carbon Capture Project Financing,” chaired by Patel. The session will focus on the financial structures, risk assessments, and operational challenges faced when funding large-scale carbon capture projects. Using a hypothetical project as a case study, Daou will examine financing options, federal incentives, and combining funding sources.
- Patel will also chair two additional sessions, “Carbon Dioxide Removal Focused on CDR Technology Roadmaps, Policy Frameworks, and the Broader Market Opportunity Space” and “Groundbreaking Carbon Capture Performance on NGCC Flue Gas: Key Learnings & Project Considerations for the Future.”
