The Denver Post named Sargent & Lundy to its list of Top Workplaces today, ranking it among the top 150 employers in Colorado. The recognition, based on employees’ feedback, comes as the firm, a leader in engineering and consulting for the power and energy industry, continues to rapidly grow and expand in the region.
“Our Englewood and Westminster offices are thriving and playing an ever-increasing role in our services across the energy industry,” said Sargent & Lundy Chairman, President, and CEO Victor Suchodolski. “Given the location and proximity to some of the best engineering schools in the country, we’re able to attract top talent to contribute to our projects throughout our entire portfolio.”
The firm established local offices in Denver in 2020 to better serve clients in the oil and gas industry. Over the past five years, its Colorado presence has grown to strengthen oil and gas services while also diversifying to support projects across the power industry from nuclear energy to transmission and distribution to carbon capture. Since moving into a new Englewood office space earlier this year, the firm has expanded to another floor to accommodate new employees.
The rapid growth is accompanied by a strong commitment to maintaining the local offices’ tight-knit corporate culture. Activities like summer barbecues and winter ski trips help foster warm relationships and enable collaboration across project teams.
Top Workplace awards are based on results from anonymous employee surveys conducted by Energage, an independent Pennsylvania-based research company. Energage administers employee surveys covering 24 factors, including pay and benefits, direction, leadership, meaningfulness, and appreciation.
“I love my job because what I do matters,” said one anonymous survey respondent. “I can tell that my work is important and does make a difference. I love that Sargent & Lundy cares about me as a person and I feel that I have a good work life balance.”
The firm recently swept all five Top Workplaces Spring Culture Excellence Awards for the second consecutive year. The awards recognize companies that receive high marks for compensation and benefits, innovation, leadership, purpose and values, and work-life flexibility. This is on top of earning recognition last fall for employee appreciation, employee well-being, and professional development.
Earlier this year, the company earned its fifth consecutive Top Workplaces USA award – one of fewer than 200 companies nationwide to win every year since the award was established in 2021. The firm was named a Top Workplace for Engineers by Engineering.com, and Suchodolski earned Top Workplaces USA’s inaugural Leadership Award based on the support of nearly 90% of employees who said they have confidence in the company’s leadership.
“These awards recognize companies that understand the power of culture to drive performance forward,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “They’re not just offering great jobs. They’re creating environments where people are empowered to do their best work and thrive. The winning companies are setting the bar for what it means to be a top employer in 2025.”
Sargent & Lundy is currently hiring in Denver and throughout the company with more than 1,000 open positions in the U.S. and internationally. Opportunities for engineers, designers, project managers, and professional support staff can be found at sargentlundy.com/careers.
