Forbes has once again named Sargent & Lundy one of America’s Best Midsize Employers in addition to including the firm in its inaugural America’s Best-in-State Companies 2026 list. The recognitions reiterate the firm’s reputation as a top workplace and a leading Illinois-based company in the engineering and construction industry.

“Our continued recognition by Forbes is a testament to the culture our people build every day,” said Chairman, President, and CEO Vic Suchodolski. “Designing the future of energy requires the industry’s brightest minds, and we remain committed to providing them with the stability, growth, and environment they deserve.”

Forbes’ America’s Best Midsize Employers list is based on independent research and anonymous employee surveys at U.S. companies with more than 1,000 employees, as well as publicly available data. Employers are evaluated on criteria that closely align with Sargent & Lundy’s long‑standing priorities, including salary, work environment, training programs, and opportunities to advance.

Additionally, the firm was named one of Forbes’ America’s Best-in-State Companies 2026, ranking No. 21 among companies headquartered in Illinois. To compile this first‑ever list, Forbes evaluated more than 50,000 companies nationwide, analyzing customer and employee satisfaction, growth, size, financial strength, and review data to highlight 750 standout companies across all 50 states. Each company competed only against others based in its home state.
