Two Sargent & Lundy nuclear license renewal specialists will present their insights to the Nuclear Energy Institute’s License Renewal Task Force during a three-day event beginning Feb. 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The meeting assembles multidisciplinary experts to exchange operating experience and best practices for nuclear license renewal and aging management. Sargent & Lundy Senior Project Manager John McCague and Program Manager Max Smith will examine how plant operators and utilities can take a comprehensive approach to license renewals through:
- Insights from a recent project, including methods for “as building” documentation to reflect changes during a more than eight-year U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission review.
- Best practices for maintaining a “living” license renewal application after submittal.
- Next steps for implementing license renewal commitments and related activities.
Sargent & Lundy brings a long-standing operating perspective to the commercial nuclear industry, reinforced by engineering professionals with decades of licensing, design, and modernization experience. The firm draws on proven methodologies, regulatory knowledge, and a collaborative approach to help utilities navigate complex, long-term operation challenges.
