November 24, 2015 – The December meeting of the Chicago Chapter of the IEEE Power and Energy Society will be held at Sargent & Lundy’s Chicago office on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Martin Bishop and Xiaokang Xu of S&C Electric will present “Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for Grid Applications – Example Installations, Modeling, and Simulations.”
The speakers will present an overview of energy storage technologies with example applications of operating systems designed, built, and installed by S&C Electric. They will also discuss modeling BESS applications using generic models under development through the WECC to allow more detailed performance evaluation of BESS response to dynamic system and steady state system events.
Non-members are welcome to register and attend.
The IEEE PES Chicago Chapter alternates its monthly meetings between lunchtime meetings at Sargent & Lundy’s Chicago office and evening meetings at ComEd’s Commercial Center in Oak Brook.
