The Department of Energy awarded a $400 million grant to the Tennessee Valley Authority under its Generation III+ Small Modular Reactor Program. Sargent & Lundy is a partner on the project intended to accelerate the nation’s first Generation III+ SMR deployment at TVA’s Clinch River nuclear site near Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Implementing the pioneering BWRX-300 SMR technology in the U.S. will further cement the firm’s decades-long relationship with TVA.
