February 1, 2019 – The 2019 schedule for Sargent & Lundy’s popular Transmission Line and Substation Engineering courses is now available. These courses are conducted by senior engineers experienced in infrastructure design. The courses have been held annually since 1994 and attended by more than 4,000 managers, engineers, and designers from electric power companies around the world. All our courses are available to utilities to be conducted at their chosen sites.
In 2019, we are introducing two new courses:
Underground Transmission Line Engineering Course
This two-day course provides a comprehensive treatment of underground transmission line engineering. Specific tasks and activities pertaining to line design will be presented, as well as the fundamentals of system needs, design requirements, route selection, cable selection, detailed design, and installation.
FACTS and Reactive Compensation Course
This two-day course provides an overview of the need for dynamic reactive power; basic design, operation, and system performance for dynamic reactive power controllers; system studies required; and writing the specification.
