REVIEWING YOUR WILL

The following excerpts are from an article in the December 1997 issue of Bottom Line's "Tomorrow" newsletter. The information provided by the author, David S. Rhine, may or may reflect the opinions of the SIP Committee
As your life and the law change, it is imperative that you review - and update - your will. For instance:

* When the estate tax law changes - as it just has. You must have your will and trusts looked at by an experienced estate-planning lawyer.

* When you move to another state, since state laws vary in many ways, and after moving you may need to modify your will to meet your objectives.

* When you buy property in a different state, since it may be subject to the law of the state where it is located rather than the state where you live.

* When your family changes by birth, death, marriage, separation or divorce.

* When family circumstances change over time, such as when children grow up and become financially independent.

* When your investment portfolio changes substantially, so you have more or less or different assets to bequeath.
