Sargent & Lundy Sponsors Fundraiser for University of Cincinnati Scholarship Fund

Freshman scholarship fund promotes diversity in UC’s Civil, Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Program

August 7, 2018 - Sargent & Lundy was pleased to support the University of Cincinnati as a sponsor for a recent initiative to promote diversity in the university’s Civil, Architectural Engineering and Construction Management Program (CAECM).

The university held a “Builders Day Picnic” to raise money for a CAECM Freshmen Scholarship Program that awards funds exclusively to CAECM freshman entering one of three degree tracks: Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management. Nearly 300 people attended the event, which had 25 sponsors and generated approximately $22,000.

Selections for the CAECM Freshmen Scholarship Program are based on student need, applicant diversity and test scores. The support is critical to attract top-notch freshman into the program and to help them cover their first year college expenses until they become eligible for co-op assignments. Over the past four years CAECM has awarded $107,000 to 38 freshmen. The average award is $2,800, but can range from $500 to $8,000.
