Project delivers increased capacity to support growing load demand and strengthened resiliency

According to studies from Commonwealth Edison’s (ComEd’s) transmission planning department and PJM Interconnection, Chicago was in danger of becoming overloaded and in need of a new double-circuit transmission line. Because of the dense urban environment, the project called for an underground solution.
